September 2008 Events             

SATURDAYS - September 6, 13, 20, 27 - GOLDEN FARMERS MARKET 8:00am to 1:00pm (August 16 until 4:00pm) in Historic Golden at Illinois Street on 10th Street next to the Golden Library.  You will find fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, fresh jams, sweets & snacks, potted plants, cut flowers, beef, pork, lamb, salmon, buffalo, and the list goes on.  This year's market will prove to be the best yet, much bigger with many more vendors to choose from, so you must come to it.  The Golden Farmers Market is the only market in Jefferson County approved to participate in the Food Stamp program and accept debit and credit cards through the EBT program. There is Cultural Alliance (Golden Museums) representation, Golden businesses showcased, free horse drawn carriage rides, Bonfils Mobile Coach, etc.  It’s not only a place to shop for your needs but also a place to get to know your Golden neighbors.  A good place to park is on 11th Street at Illinois Street and take the Clear Creek walk over bridge to the market.  The Golden Farmers Market will be Saturdays thru Oct. 4 

THURSDAY - September 18 - MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON 11:15am to 1:00pm at the VFW GOLDEN POST NO. 4171, 15625 W. 10th Ave. off  S. Golden Rd. on McIntyre in Pleasant View.  September is Workforce Development Month; therefore the topic of presentation will be “WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT”. Workforce based organizations that have been invited to be present at the luncheon and be available to discuss their programs are: Jefferson County Workforce Center (the luncheon sponsor), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Collbran Job Corps Center, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Golden High School, Warren Tech., SCORE, Jefferson County Business Resource Center, Red Rocks Community College, Three Trust.  The cost is $20.00 payable upon making reservations 303-279-3113, PLEASE make advance reservations.

TUESDAY - September 23 - GOLDEN HIGH SCHOOL DEDICATION 1:30pm at Jackson Street and 24th Street.  The new high school is completed and students are attending this new, state of the art school.  How lucky can Golden be to have  a brand new High School? Thanks to all concerned.  To help celebrate this great accomplishment you are invited to the dedication ceremonies to be at 1:30pm.  There is expected to be a huge crowd so come early!

WEDNESDAY - September 24 - WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BREAKFAST 7:30 to 9:00am at COPPER FIELDS EVENT CHATEAU, 4901 Marshall Street, Wheat Ridge.  Jefferson County Workforce Center and DRCOG has invited the Chambers of Commerce of Golden, West, Arvada and Evergreen to join them in celebration of Workforce Development month.  Dr. Eric A. Roe, director of FLATE, the Florida Center for Manufacturing Education, will be the guest speaker.  Dr. Roe is the principal investigator and director of the Workforce Florida-funded, Employ Florida Banner Center for Manufacturing, aimed at developing training strategies and certifications for Florida manufacturing’s incumbent workers.  In 2007, he was selected one of the Gulf Coast Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” for his professional accomplishments and contributions to the community.  Cost of the breakfast is only $20.00 with reservations taken by all Chambers and payment due upon making them.  Reservations are a must, so make them early

WEDNESDAY - September 24 - GRAND OPENING/RIBBON CUTTING 3:00 to 6:00pm at ECHOSERVE, INC, 1150 Catamount Dr. in North Golden.  Everyone is invited to this new corporate office grand opening event to include refreshments and tours of this facility.  Founded in 2005, ECHOSERVE is a medical equipment company specializing in the maintenance and repair of diagnostic imaging equipment (ultrasound and mammography).  You will not want to miss grand opening.  Ribbon cutting ceremonies are scheduled for 5:00pm.  Take Hwy. 93 north, go through the Iowa stop light, turn left at the next stop light towards to mountains and Catamount Dr. is on the right.  Echoserve will be on your left, the new big blue building.

THURSDAY - September 25 - RIBBON CUTTING/OPEN HOUSE 4:00 to 6:00pm at CUSTOM VIEW WINDOWS, DOORS AND MORE, 14818 W. 6th Avenue Unit 17A.  This new business to Golden offers a full service of windows, doors and more just as the name implies.  Their service is offered to residential as well as business needs.  There will be hors d'oeurves, displays, door prizes available while you admire this wonderful product.  Ribbon cutting ceremonies are scheduled for 5:30pm.

October 2008 Events

FRIDAY - October 3 - MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON/CSM HOMECOMING KICKOFF 11:30am to 1:30pm at the GREEN CENTER, 16th Street and Arapahoe on the CSM campus.  Come on out, support CSM and have a great time.  The guest speaker has not been confirmed at the time of this print.  CSM football game will kick off at 12 noon on Saturday at Brooks Field.  Cost of this luncheon is $20.00 playable upon making reservations.  Please RSVP to the Chamber 303-279-3113

FRIDAY - October 3 - KNOCK YOUR BOOTS OFF AT GOLDEN'S CHILI COOK OFF/GOLDEN’S FIRST FRIDAY/BLOCK PARTY 5:00 - 8:00pm in the parking lot between 12th & 13th Street behind Foss Building Wine and Spirits in Historic Downtown Golden.  This brand new event should be a very exciting venture as it is the night before CSM homecoming football game and all the activities planned on campus with large crowds to arrive in Golden.  Plans have not all been finalized as yet but to date the COORS musical RV, free horse-drawn carriage rides, free Chipmunk Express train rides, specials in stores and restaurants, entertainment in businesses on Washington Ave., and the list will go on.  Stay tuned.

WEDNESDAY - October 8 - OPEN HOUSE/ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION/RIBBON CUTTING 2:00 to 6:00pm at TABLE MOUNTAIN VISION, 1224 Arapahoe St. in Historic Downtown Golden.  This great business has been in Golden for the past 10 years and invites everyone to help them celebrate this great occasion.  There will be food, beverage, giveaways, drawings, etc. so how can you miss this celebration.  Dr. Kelley Jackson Condon will be waiting to greet you.  Special Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are scheduled for 5:30pm.

THURSDSAY - October 23 - RIBBON CUTTING/BUSINESS AFTER HOURS 5:00 to 7:00pm at the businesses of JACKSON SQUARE at the intersection of Jackson Street and 12th Streets.  Businesses participating in this neat Chamber function are BATH NATION, URBAN ESCAPE DAY SPA, VINTNER’S CELLAR WINERY. Entitled "Vino Therapy and Bath Nation Launch," this is a great fall occasion for  networking leading into the Holiday season.  No need to RSVP, just show up with your business cards, network, tour and have a great evening.  Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are scheduled at Bath Nation.

TUESDAY - October 28 - MEMBER ORIENTATION is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28 from 7:00 to 8:45am at THE GOLDEN HOTEL, 800 11th Street (11th St. at Washington Ave.) in Historic Downtown Golden.  This orientation will feature an overview of the Golden Chamber structure presented by the Chair of the Chamber Board of Directors, Chairs of the various Chamber standing committees and an introduction to the staff.  “EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GOLDEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK” This program is for ALL members of the Chamber who want to be updated and is especially for new members.  All committees are inviting members to join them in their plan of action.  There is no cost to attend but space is limited.  A full breakfast will be provided, RSVP to the Chamber 303-279-3113

November 2008 Events

WEDNESDAY - November 5 - HOLIDAY BUSINESS EXPO/BUSINESS AFTER HOURS will be Wednesday, November 5 from 4:00 to 7:30pm at TABLE MOUNTAIN INN, 1310 Washington Avenue in Historic Downtown Golden.  This is a perfect time for you to show to your fellow Chamber members and the general public what you will be offering for the Holiday season.  Several Chamber members will be there showcasing service, catering, gifts, baskets, framing, you name it and someone will need it to give this Holiday season.  Table Mountain Inn will provide food, beer, wine, and entertainment from 5:00 to 7:30pm.  There will be lots of fun and networking with the Chamber members that have already reserved a space.  These Chamber members are Table Mountain Inn, Golden Transcript, Coors Credit Union, Golden Rent All, Mile High Chem-Dry, 24/7 Flood Response, Human Endeavors, Blue Canyon Bar & Grill, KB Home @ Canyon Point.  Remember, the general public has been invited, therefore networking will be great.  Display tables are limited, please reserve yours today, call Jayne at 303-279-3113 or email jayne@goldencochamber.org
